This is a landscape image. The subject matter of this image is showing the colour within the image. The colour on the image has been changed so that something we see as a boring image can look different with a bright colour added too it. East Eric made the subject matter more obvious by showing the hidden meaning of colour which I think makes it look more original but more people would understand what the image is about.
The photograph is framed in landscape to show the whole image. This enhances the photograph because it’s able to narrow down a certain part of the image to show colour. The photographer has used an image that shows the landscape combined with a manmade object.
I think that the photographer would have gone to a place that has more landscape and found this that shows the train tracks and the landscape combined. He would have taken the image like a photographer would and then edited this in Photoshop by adding the bright pink colour.
The photographer has tried to create a positive atmosphere within an average photo. I like this image because I think that the photographer has created a photo using a different interpretation of using the colour. I like the idea of using colour in a different way by not taking the image showing the colour naturally but enhancing and adding the colour manually. This image is quite calming as it shows a place that seems to be empty and quite.

My intentions.
for my project I intend to try different ways to produce similar work to East Eric. By this I am going to first try adding the colour using photoshop and using paint, I am going to try adding paint or different kinds of paint on the the image itself, the paints that I will use will be, water colour, acrylic paint (diluted and normal) and ink.
My experiments.
I started by editing my first image in photoshop by adding the paint digitally. I think that this is a good idea but I think that it would look better if I chose a different way of doing it for example by doing it manually as the digital way looks deliberate.
This is my second experiment of adding colour into the landscape. To create the colour in this image I used oil pastels. However I don't think that this looks like it has been added manually so I don't think that this is the best technique to use for my edits.
To add the colour to the image by using ink colour, I like how this turned out however I think it still doesn't look like it should be there and seems deliberate. I think there is a better way to demonstrate the colour being added into the image.
For this experiment I chose to add the colour in the image by using watercolour. However i don't think that the colour stands out well and doesn't suit the image well. I don't think I will use this technique for my images.
This experiment I tried using a thick paint as the other techniques didn't work as well as the colours didn't stand out as much, with this experiment I think it looks better, however it makes you focus more on the image rather than the whole image. I think that the colour stands out too much on this.
Technique I will use
This is the final experiment. I will use this technique for my images. To create this look I used the same technique as the last image by using a thick paint, however I added water to the colour to make it thinner but still have the strong colour. I like this technique better because it looks less deliberate.
Hanging plan.
I displayed them in this order of which I edited the images in. Overall I like all the images edited but the overall technique that I will use will be the last image using acrylic paint and diluting it with water.
My edits & Hanging plan.
I Displayed the images in the separation of the brighter colours at the top and the darker colours on the images at the bottom. I like all the images that I edited because they have a similar effect to East Eric's images but they are different that makes them unique.
Conclusion.
Overall, I think that this artist work was a good starting point to the project. I really enjoyed experimenting with the different ways in which I could interpret his work for my own. I also think that the work I produced was the best possible outcome that I could have done to recreate this artists work with the materials that I had.
